Information about the artist / the group

I am Kaisa Lamminpää-Raekallio, a 45-year-old freelance artist and mother of two boys.
I work in a multidisciplinary field, working full-time
in the beloved, fascinating and endlessly inspiring visual arts of painting.
I also working with Dancing Painter - A Poem about Life
-improvisation work.
When painting, I work completely intuitively and improvisation is my main starting point.
I am inspired by feelings, moods, dreams, memories, nature, colours, music.
I may try to decide something beforehand about the final result, but usually always at the beginning of the painting,
the work itself begins to emerge.
At the same time, the freedom to do exactly what feels good,
at the same time feeling what wants to come out.

Program during Konstrundan

During the event you can visit my studio, where you can find both finished and unfinished paintings.
I will tell you about my artistic path, my way of working and you will see a live painting.
The Pop-Up Gallery and café will be open with live music and you can also visit the other spaces
at the history-steeped, over 100-year-old Machine Shop.

Driving directions

My studio is in the old VR Machine Shop in Männisto, Kuopio. The address of the whole large area is Pohjolankatu 1. My studio is located at the top of the area, accessible from Kullervonkatu. From the Männistö Teboil you take the road down to the parking lot, from where wooden stairs lead to the 2nd floor.
